Espresso preparation is a skill that requires a depth of understanding, and it is learnt through training and practice. Training is not a one-off event, it should be an ongoing programme encouraged at every level in your café. There are no shortcuts to becoming a top barista and to support your espresso operation we offer a number of classes.
Training at the Roastery
We believe dedicated training time with no distractions is the most effective way for our expert trainer, Agnes to teach the skills for espresso preparation. The ‘Perfect Cup’ class and the ‘Milk Workshop’ are offered on a regular weekly basis in our training room. To ensure the maximum level of participation and allow everyone hands-on involvement there are no more than six people per class.
Perfect Cup Class
This is an introduction to the fundamentals of espresso preparation. The class content includes dosing, tamping, extraction volume and time, grind adjustment, milk steaming and machine cleaning procedures.
As a follow up to the Perfect Cup Class the Milk Workshop revisits and advances on milk steaming and pouring techniques.
