Espresso preparation is a skill that requires a depth of understanding and it is learnt through training and practice. It is not a one-off event so should be an ongoing programme encouraged at every level in your café. The best guarantee of a successful espresso operation and return sales is to serve the best tasting coffee.
We believe dedicated training time with no distractions is the most effective way for our trainers, Tom and Thomas to teach the skills for espresso preparation. The ‘Perfect Cup’ class and the ‘Milk Workshop’ are offered on a weekly basis in our training room at the Roastery. To allow everyone hands-on involvement there are no more than six people per class.
Perfect Cup Class - This is an introduction to the fundamentals of espresso preparation. The class content focuses on espresso preparation and grind adjustment, it also covers milk steaming and pouring, recipes and machine cleaning.
Milk Workshop - As a follow up to the Perfect Cup Class the Milk Workshop revisits and advances on milk steaming and pouring techniques.
Ongoing Support - Training support is ongoing. Specific and advanced training is available to continue to develop barista skills. You can always improve!
